Cancellations and refunds

Last updated

Draft pending legal review. This page sets out how NXT Speaker works today. It is being reviewed by our legal advisers and may change. Questions? See our contact page.

When you pay for a booking, the money is held by NXT Speaker, not paid to the speaker. That is what lets us refund you when a booking falls through.

1. If the organiser cancels

How much of the fee is refunded depends on how far ahead you cancel:

Refund to the organiser by how far ahead they cancel
Organiser cancelsRefund of the fee
30 or more days before the eventBeing finalised
14 to 29 days before the eventBeing finalised
Less than 14 days before the eventBeing finalised

2. If the speaker cancels

If a speaker cancels a booking you have paid for, you get your payment back in full.

3. If the speaker does not show

Tell us before the booking is marked complete. The payment stays held while we look into it, and it is refunded if the speaker did not deliver.

4. When the speaker is paid

The speaker’s share becomes due 7 days after the event is marked complete. Until then the payment is held, so there is time to raise a problem.

5. Disputes

If something went wrong, contact us with your booking number before the payout date. We hold the payment while we investigate and hear from both sides.

6. How refunds arrive

Refunds go back to the card you paid with, through Yoco.
